Actually it is said that you can get herpes from kissing… im not sure exactly which std’s but it is possible.

No you can´t , the worst thing that can happen is that you get a lip burn also called herpes or get an airborne tranmited disease like flu.
herpes simplex 1 is usally on the mouth and can be transmitted through kissing if you have any open sores or the spore gets into any mucous membrane. since herpes simplex 2 is uaully genital, not normally. but since they are the same desease and oral sex is not terribly uncommon, you can also get this on your mouth.

If you tasted blood – my guess is your partner: 1) doesn’t floss well, and has gingivitis; 2) had some type of really hot food / liquid and burned his tongue / injured his moth; or I’m sure there are other explanations, too.
