I was just told that I have genital warts yesterday. I slept with a man PROTECTED about 4 weeks ago and my current girlfriend 3 weeks ago up until now. Genetal warts, also can be called: condylomata acuminata or venereal warts, is the most
recognized sign of HPV infection. HPV is a sexually transmitted virus infection.
It looks like soft, moist, or flesh colored and appear in the Genetal area within weeks
or months after being infected. They often appear in clusters that resemble cauliflower like
bumps, and can be raised or flat, small or large. found in the Genetal and anal region of both male & female. This is caused by a virus called the human papilloma (HPV), and can occur at any age. Usually show up in women on the vulva and cervix, or inside and surrounding the vagina or anus.
Not all that has been exposed to the virus will develop genetal warts.
Even if warts are not spotted, it doesn’t mean they are not there. HPV can have a long
incubation period. Namely months or years may pass between time of infections until actual warts are showing up. In women, the warts may be where they can’t see be spotted, inside the body, on the surface of the cervix. In men, Usually genetal warts appears on the scrotum or penis. Often can be found on the thigh or groin.
Genetal warts treatments are various. The virus can be treated by number of different type of treatments. here are some examples: podophyllin resin, imiquimod, trichloroacetic acid, and podophyllotoxin. Surgical or destructive therapies include carbon dioxide laser, surgical excision, loop excision, cryotherapy, and electrodessication. Interferon when injected locally or administered systemically. No treatment is better than the other. But there are cost difference, and it seems that surgery and electrodesiccation
HPV causes abnormal cells to grow on the cervix. these cells can become cancerous.
One way of treatment is to remove the warts by freezing them, this is called – cryotherapy.
The warts can also be taken off with a laser. A procedure that is also used to remove the warts, is preformed by a small operation that passes underneath the wart and cuts them out of the skin.
This treatment is called the loop electrosurgical excision.
The warts can be removed, but the viral infection can not be cured. The virus goes on living inside the skin. This is the reason warts sometime comes back after been removed. That is why there may be a need to remove them more than once.
The medications dissolve warts in the Genetal area. It has to be applied to the area a few times over a period of couple of weeks before the treatment is complete.
Genetal warts can grow if not treated right. Best way to avoid is to use condoms. it may prevent from catching HPV. Nevertheless, condoms don’t always cover all of the affected area.

i have recently had my first smear test, which came back slightly abnormal, 3 months later i then went for a colposcopy, i was told that i had internal gential warts, and that they would clear themselves in time. however shortly after this was confirmed by my doctor, my boyfriend also noticed that he had the same infection. this is something that has only recently come to light with both (noticeably in the 3 months between smear and colposcopy) as we have been checked in the past by a GUM doctor. we have been together 5 years and never had a problem with this infection, neither of us has been with anyone else since we met, but my boyfriend is now having doubts that i may have done something which i havent. what is the reason behind this problem only recently coming to light??

I had genital warts 6years ago which can increase the risk of cancer in the cervix. I have got to have a repeat smear end of Jan. I have lost an awful lot of weight over xmas.. do you think its cancer???

My pap swear came up negative but i have 3 small bumps near my pubic region. I visited the obgyn and she says that it looks like warts.
I had a treatment done where the warts were frozen, (they were quite small). I believe the doc didn’t apply it properly because after a month i felt a small bump and now the wart is back!
I plan on goin back to get this removed and make sure she applies it to spot that she cant see, but i can feel.

I just got one done a few months ago along with a chlamydia and ghonnorea test. Everything came back negative but my BF tested positive for genital warts.
I had an abnormal pap back in November. A had a biopsy and all that jazz. I was told that i had mild dysplasis and that come back in a year to have my anual pap. If i had genital warts, hpv, would the test have shown that? Is it possible that i could have genital warts if i had mild dysplasis?

As soon as my boyfriend went to the doctor and found out he had a genital wart I went to the doctor to get tested. My test results came back normal?! This is the first time he has had a breakout since we have been together for almost 2 years. How could I NOT have hpv? I am just very surprised by the results.

So partner of 8 months suddenly flares up with warts, we were careful (condoms) and slept together only twice I havent got symptoms as of yet but i read it can be dormant for years I think thats what happened with him… anywhoo can they test for warts on me and get a solid result?

about a week ago i had what seemed like a yeast infection..I treated it and it seemed to clear up no problem..i just had my period and thot maybe i was getting another as i had itchy redness down there. getting out a mirror and look closer on either side of my vulva i see tons of little little bumps, very very tiny. They seem to be almost like vestibular papillomatosis as discribed online but i read something about warts/hpv attracting and turning white when vinigar is put on them? so a friend of mine took a papsmear test and they called her this morning saying it came back abnormal.. now she thinks its Genital warts!!! last week she found a "bump" or a lil pimple on her labia minora the gyno said it was normal for woman to get those but now my friend is Freaked ou!!! she thinks its genital warts! Does anyone know what it could be???
she called the Doc and she said that her HPV test came back negative.. so the Doc told her to get another test in six months!!
I would like to know if you can detect warts this way. Also, once they are treated, and the wart is no longer visible, can the disease still be transmitted to a sexual partner?
i have genital warts (HPV). i know this as a fact. some new warty-looking growths have appeared on my pelvis, and perhaps the shaft of my penis.
my question is this: if i get the warts removed, will that lessen my risk of developing penile/penis cancer?
i know that HPV is one of the primary risk factors in penis cancer, but i do not not to what extent the warts, when left alone, magnify that risk.
also, what other things can i do to lesson my chances of penis cancer? i.e. decreasing abrasions to my penis, eating better, exercising.
I am asking this question on here because 1) seeing a doctor is expensive (my medical insurance doesn’t cover "non-essential" visits) and 2) i want a wide range of information. a doctor may give me one answer, but i’d like as much information as i can get.

I’ve had two pap smears and they came back normal. I’ve been tested for all Stds and the results were negatve.
From time to time ( I shave and I’ve stopped shaving and having sex) I get 1 flesh colored bump and then after like a week it will shrink. Sometimes the bump is itchy or it gets irritated.
Is it an ingrown hair?
What do you think it is? And how do I test for it if there is no bump?
Aside from going to the dermatologist every 6 months to a year to have them frozen off, is there an easier method of safely removing genital warts at home?
Too bad you can’t buy that freezeing liquid and do it yourself.
Tomorrow I have an appt with my doctor. I’ve been to two other doctors what gave me a visual diagnosis saying what I have is a ingrown hair bump. The health dept that I went to said they only do visual testings for herpes and genital warts. My question is what do I say to my doctor for him to test me for what’s needed for those two stds, I want to know for certain? What test do I ask for? Thanks
