Do you think it’s immoral for someone to knowingly have sex w/others (w/a condom) if they have Genital Warts?
I know someone who has Genital Warts. A good buddy of mine. He goes out and has hooked up with a few women and always uses a condom, but a condom doesn’t always prevent the spread of warts. He knows this (as the doctor told him) yet he doesn’t tell the women he’s infected. Is this immoral? He says he’s using a condom and thinks that’s good enough.

it is not only immoral, it is illegal. the state legally says that if you can prove (based on drs exams and test) that a person found out and has tested positive for a disease, that they legally must tell someone before having sex with them
Of course it’s immoral. I hope you’ve told him so. It may not change what he chooses to do, but the least we can do is stand up for the right thing and try to do our best. It’s great that you’re even asking this question (why aren’t there more folks like you out there?) Ask him how he will feel if the woman he one day marries turns up with warts, cervical cancer (from the wart virus) or herpes, because some guy she hooked up with one night when she was younger and not using her best judgment put her health in jeopardy so he could seflishly score. Yes, that is immoral. He is just spreading are the virus with no concern to what happens to his sexual partners. This guy should NOT be having sex unless cleared by a doctor to do so! This is how so many undeserving people get HPV even when they are careful because of guys like this!

VERY….Simply b/c a condom doesn’t cover your entire genital area so he still might pass it on. Tell him to remember that if he comes up with AIDS or something b/c someone used a condom and thought it was "good enough"
So are you suggesting he should never have sex again? Sure it doesnt protect completely, but its probably good enough, and well if isnt then thats just too bad for the girl that slept with him. Anybody who has sex, condom or not, takes a risk, it is not immoral in my opinion. Now if he wasnt using rubber, then yes it would be immoral, but to expect him to give up sex is pushing the limit.
