Before you dive into the blog I just want to say one thing:
no matter how much you love your bf and you dont want to
embarrass him, if he has genital warts -
HE MUST TREAT IT.
Or you'll both suffer. Dont just let it be cause you'll pay dearly later on.
If you dont feel comfortable to confront him just do what I did - I got him this really amazing cure after seeing it on ABC news, and I used it to treat him without him even knowing anything about it :)
In the end of the day it doesnt really matter if you take this cure or any other
just treat it and dont ignore it.
Live healthy and enjoy my blog,

or should they go to a dermatologist. Any ideas on how to keep them from reoccuring, we do know that they have them for life, but hoping we can find a way to control outbreaks
Genital warts may spread even with a condom in use so I do not suggest having sex with any new partners without telling them before even if you are wart free it can transfer. Cryo surgery for the whole uterus works to remove scars from warts and possibly prevent cervical cancer. Someone I know had it and never have had a break out since even though it is possible to reoccur. I recommend getting a doctor to freeze any visible warts. It isn’t too bad. Your doctor can also give you a cream to apply that boosts your immune response to the infection called Aldara. It works really well. Staying healthy and keeping your immune system well as possible is key.
Are you sure it’s not you that has the warts?
Oh maybe that was below the belt… ha ha.
No, but seriously, if you or the friend has it, get thee to a doctor. Go to a gyno. What is a derm gonna go? They don’t usually deal with genitalia.
The goal of treatment for genital herpes is to provide relief from the discomfort of herpes sores and to reduce the time it takes for an outbreak to heal.
Initial treatment
Most people find some relief and recover more quickly from the first (primary) outbreak of genital herpes by taking antiviral medications.
Use medications to relieve symptoms and speed healing of blisters and sores.
Antiviral medications, such as acyclovir (Zovirax), famciclovir (Famvir), or valacyclovir (Valtrex) are usually recommended for treating primary genital herpes outbreaks.
Nonprescription medications, such as ibuprofen (Advil) or acetaminophen (Tylenol), may reduce the pain and fever from genital herpes.
Use home treatment, such as taking warm sitz baths and wearing cotton underwear, to promote healing of herpes sores and reduce the risk of recurrent outbreaks. For more information, see the Home Treatment section of this topic.
Take steps to prevent the spread of genital herpes. These include avoiding any sexual contact if you or your partner have symptoms or are being treated for genital herpes. For more information, see the Prevention section of this topic.
Home Treatment
Home treatment for genital herpes focuses on relieving symptoms, reducing the risk of recurrent outbreaks, and helping you cope with a lifelong condition.
To reduce discomfort from herpes sores:
Take warm sitz baths or wash the area with warm water 3 or 4 times a day.
In between sitz baths, keep the sores clean and dry.
Using a hair dryer to dry off the sores may be more comfortable than using a towel.
Wear cotton underpants, which absorb moisture better than those made from synthetic material.
Nonprescription medications may reduce the pain and fever from genital herpes.
To reduce the risk of recurrent outbreaks:
Eat a balanced diet, get enough rest, and exercise. These healthy habits may reduce the number and severity of herpes outbreaks.
Reduce factors that trigger outbreaks, such as overexposure to sun, fatigue, irritation of the genital area, and stress.
Other Treatment
Some people find complementary medicine helpful in reducing recurrent outbreaks of genital herpes. Many people report that the amino acid lysine reduces the number of outbreaks and promotes healing. A dose of 1,000 mg 4 times a day (up to 4,000 mg a day) at the beginning of herpes symptoms is recommended and has been shown to be safe and free of side effects. People with liver or kidney disease should not take lysine.
Your friend will probably never be "outbreak free", but it can be controll. They need to contact a doctor and discuss treatments.
First your friend needs to go to the Doc A.S.A.P…and last I heard those are permanent…like he or she is gonna have them forever..
no home remedies that i can think of…..tell them to suck it up and get a prescription for aldara……i hear it works wonders.
the only way is to get a perscrption from teh gyno. pills more then a cream. dont know about anyother way. and if an jout break accours u cna take a bath that wont make them goaway but it will sooth u. hope this helps.
Genital warts and genital herpes are two completely different things (a few people answering are obviously confusing the two). Both are viruses and will stay with you the rest of your life. Genital warts are caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus). There are a few ways to get rid of them. You can have them lasered off, frozen off, or use topical medication (creams). As for home remedies, nothing really works. The more you wait, the more they spread and can become VERY painful (I had to call off work, they were so painful).
Aldara cream is very useful, but very powerful. You are only suppose to use it 3 days a week because you can get 2nd and 3rd degree burns from it. Unfortunately the only way to get Aldara is by going to the doctor and getting a prescription. You do not need to go to a dermatologist. Your regular family doctor can help. Hope this helps. Good luck!

no go get it frozen with liquid nitrogen ( cryotherapy )by a doctor .
Ok, this is a common misconception. Genital warts (HPV) will go away on their own eventually. Her immune system will eventually contain and destroy the virus as long as she keeps herself healthy. 70% of the U.S. has HPV at some point in time. Most people never even realize it. Her best bet is to support her immune system with 6-8 8oz. glasses of water a day, a healthy diet (lots of whole grains, fruits & veggies) 20-30 min of cardio exercise a day, and taking a supplement called Olive Leaf Extract will help get rid of the warts. It has anti-viral properties and will also strengthen her immune system.
NO. They can only be treated. Once you have genital warts, you will always have genital warts. THERE IS NO CURE!!! They can only be controlled. See a DR and get some meds.
