A great way I used to get rid of warts was to use the sap from a frangipani tree. It seems to slowly suffocate the wart and it shrinks within a week usually.
OTC acids work well but there are tricks to get them to work even better. First soak the affected area in warm water for about 5 minutes or so. Gently file away dead skin from the wart, then apply the acid and cover with either duct tape or athletic tape.
Another point. DO NOT use the nail file for any other reason as it could spread the wart virus to your nails.
