Before you dive into the blog I just want to say one thing:
no matter how much you love your bf and you dont want to
embarrass him, if he has genital warts -
HE MUST TREAT IT.
Or you'll both suffer. Dont just let it be cause you'll pay dearly later on.

If you dont feel comfortable to confront him just do what I did - I got him this really amazing cure after seeing it on ABC news, and I used it to treat him without him even knowing anything about it :)

In the end of the day it doesnt really matter if you take this cure or any other
just treat it and dont ignore it.

Live healthy and enjoy my blog,
Suzi

Please inform me on how it can be contracted and how to deal with it if infected. Plus is it a viral disease or bacterial, also how contagious is it?
If there’s no cure, does it mean that one’s spouse can and will be infected(assuming one is already infected before marriage)?

You might have been suffering from warts for some time and only finally got your courage up to go and talk with your doctor about it. But now you want to know how to get rid of warts. This is a question which has plagued many people the world over, and the answers you get back are in some cases astonishing.

To begin with, on the topic of how to get rid of warts, you have a few main choices to make. These go along the lines of whether you want medical treatment in the form of prescription medications and surgical treatments, or whether you want natural remedies to help you get rid of your warts.

You have the option of trying out treatment methods such as Acupuncture, Acupressure, Herbalism and Ayurveda amongst other things. These are normally classed as Naturopathic treatments as they deal primarily with natural – as opposed to chemical or surgical – treatment methods.

If this doesn’t appeal to you, you always have the other two options open to you, that of medications and surgery. If you’re wondering how to get rid of warts through medical procedures, don’t worry there are many treatment options available to you.

These range from prescription medications such as Imiquimod cream, Podofilox gel, Interferon, and Trichloracetic acid to Polyphenon and Fluorouracil. There is also the option to go the surgical route in your campaign of how to get rid of warts.

These options include, but are not limited, to surgical excision, electrocautery, cryotherapy, laser therapy, and Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP). All of these methods have been known to work in getting rid of the physical signs of warts.

If on the other hand you want to go through with natural treatments and remedies, you will find that there is no shortage in that field either. You will be able to find out how to get rid of warts using these methods from a qualified herbalist or a naturopath.

Some of the better known methods of how to get rid of warts includes the use of garlic. This Nature’s wonder drug can normally be found in your kitchen and if you can just stand the pungent smell you can get rid of warts by peeling and halving a garlic clove and then rubbing it on the affected area.

You will need to do this at least twice a day until the warts are gone. If you’re wondering how to get rid of warts without the use of something as pungent as garlic, you also have the option of using herbal tinctures, or suppositories.

The tinctures can be bought form a naturalist store, or you can even make it yourself. As for the suppositories these are best made fresh at the time of needs.

To find out about suppositories you can either ask your herbalist, or naturopath, or you can get this information on how to get rid of warts from other sources such as herbal remedy books.

There is no cure, only medicine that can lessen the pain and itch when it occurs, and learn healthy ways to deal with stress, because stress brings outbreaks on.

Currently the only cure is having them removed. This means cut out or more commonly frozen off. However, there are trials in using the new HPV vaccine on patients who already have genital warts. However, the treatment will probably not be avaliable by the time you need to get rid of them (I’m working on the basis that the drug was invented in Australia and we haven’t got it avaliable for everyone yet – check with your doctor) The disease operates very similarly to the diseases that give you cold sores or chicken pox and can be triggered (by stress etc.) later on in life. It’s very contagious but requires skin to skin contact. Hope this helps!

Genital warts are caused by the "Human Papilloma Virus" (HPV)

There are treatments for genital warts, though they often disappear even without treatment. There is no way to predict whether the warts will grow or disappear. Therefore, if you suspect you have genital warts, you should be examined and treated, if necessary.
Depending on factors such as the size and location of your genital warts, your health care provider will offer you one of several ways to treat them.

    Imiquimod cream
    20 percent podophyllin antimitotic solution
    0.5 percent podofilox solution
    5 percent 5-fluorouracil cream
    Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)
If you are pregnant, you should not use podophyllin or podofilox because they are absorbed by your skin and may cause birth defects in your baby. In addition, you should not use 5-fluorouracil cream if you are pregnant.

If you have small warts, your health care provider can remove them by one of three methods.

    Freezing (cryosurgery)
    Burning (electrocautery)
    Laser treatment
If you have large warts that have not responded to other treatment, you may have to have surgery to remove them.

Some health care providers inject the antiviral drug alpha interferon directly into warts that have returned after removal by traditional means. The drug is expensive, however, and does not reduce the rate that the genital warts return.

Although treatments can get rid of the warts, none get rid of the virus. Because the virus is still present in your body, warts often come back after treatment.

Your spouse may be able to get the new HPV vaccine then she wouldn’t get the HPV infection. At least she wouldn’t get the strain that causes cervical cancer. Read info below:

Do genital warts cause cervical cancer?

No. The types of HPV that cause genital warts do not cause cancer. But people sometimes have more than one HPV infection at a time. And warts may be a sign of infection with more serious types of HPV. Pap tests are essential for women whether or not they have warts.
    http://www.plannedparenthood.org/sexual-health/std/genital-warts.htm

    Will I always have HPV?

The answer to this question is not clear.
Most people (up to 90%) who test positive for HPV with very sensitive tests for HPV (polymerase chain reaction [PCR] and Hybrid Capture 2) will become HPV negative on the same tests within 6 to 24 months from first testing positive. This is due to an effective immune response to HPV.
What is not known is whether this means that the virus is actually eliminated from the body or just suppressed to such a low number of HPVs (as in latency) that even these sensitive tests cannot detect it.
Whether it is completely eliminated or just suppressed does not matter because most people who have an effective immune response to HPV do not ever have lesions develop from this HPV infection.
A minority of people may be at-risk for having return of warts or other HPV lesions later in life, usually if immunity is seriously compromised.

There is no cure but the warts them self can be destroyed, it’s a form of HPV which in some cases can cause cervical cancer. I would use a condom if my parter was infected.

Treatment may include creams to break down the tissue of the warts (Condylox)

Certain medications to give your immune system a boost, not antibiotics but Imiquimod

Or you can have them burned of with Trichloroacetic acid

Either way, you will still have the virus which can cause the warts to come back. You will never be cured, and you will pass them on.

Please always use a condom because instead of giving a girl warts you could end up causing her cancer.

It seems to spread very easily, but I’m not sure exactly how (maybe check out webmd.com?). The most common treatment is a perscription drug called Valtrex, but I’ve heard people say there are natural cures for this disease (maybe try naturalcures.com or mercola.com?). I think they advise using protection if you have herpes. You should go to a doctor and have him/her do a blood test to determine that you do have herpes. If you are too embarassed to go to a regular doctor, go to Planned Parenthood. They take appointments for guys, too.

there is no cure. It is a virus, so just symptom management. They are cut or burned/frozen off, sometimes go away on their own.

Here is a link that answers all of your questions, and more.
